Official Rules

  1. Cheer Fest reserves the right to add, combine, divide, and/or eliminate divisions as necessary at all competition events based on registrations per competition. CheerFest will often combine small and large divisions in order to ensure a higher quality competition.
  2. All school teams must represent their school. All recreation teams must cheer for a recreation team during the season.
  3. Timing will begin on the start of the first word or beat of music and will end on the last word, beat of music motion. Entrances and exits will not be judged unless they are part of the routine. See Time Limit Guidelines Here
  4. School Teams follow National Federation Rules. There are separate rules for All Star, Rec., and Dance Teams. Recreation teams must follow their own organization rules and guidelines.
  5. In the event a competitor gets injured during the performance and it causes an interruption, the team must either continue the presentation or maybe allowed to perform again at the discretion of the judges.
  6. A 54' X 42' mat will be provided at all of our competitions. All CheerFest events will feature a USGA certified spring floor. unless stated otherwise.
  7. In an effort to keep the competition running smoothly, teams will only have 30 seconds to take the mat once their name is called, and 30 seconds to clear off the floor. If a team takes longer, 10 points will be deducted from their overall score.
  8. If the stereo equipment causes a problem with the playing of your music, the team may perform their routine again. HOWEVER, if it is the fault of the tape, CD or team rep., the team will need to continue with the routine to the best of their ability.
  9. Cheer Fest will have CD music systems available only. (Sorry No Tapes Allowed) A representative from your team must run the music. Foul taste in music, such as profanity, will result in DISQUALIFICATION.
  10. Time and safety violations will be penalized. A 10-point penalty for each infraction will be assessed to any team or individual violation.

  12. All participants agree to conduct themselves in a manner displaying good sportsmanship throughout the competition. The advisor of each squad is responsible for seeing that squad members, coaches, parents, and other persons affiliated with their team conduct themselves accordingly. Any demonstration of un-sportsman like conduct will result in DISQUALIFICATION.
  13. If you have a complaint or concern we will listen. Take the proper channels and you will be heard. Cheer Fest takes pride in providing the most qualified and non-partisan judges possible. No matter the instance, the word of the judges is final.
  14. Division Changes:
    It is the responsibility of the coach to register the team in the correct division. If there are any questions concerning the divisions, please address it with the staff of Cheer Fest. Teams needing to change divisions within 10 days prior to the scheduled date of the competition will incur a $250 fine. There will be NO Division changes once the schedule is posted on the Thursday prior to the event.
  15. Crossovers:
    Participants who "crossover"
    must pay the crossover fee ($20) in order to perform on more than one squad. Although CheerFest will attempt to schedule cross-overs as far apart as possible, CheerFest can only guarantee that cross-over participants will have 10 minutes between cross-over performances.
  16. Payments:
    a) If a waitlist develops, teams who have not made payment will be bumped from the itinerary.
    b) Please send no more than one guaranteed form of payment (certified check, money order, or credit card) per program made payable to "Cheer Fest" or charge to Visa or MasterCard. No personal checks accepted
    c) All fees must be received in a guaranteed form of payment by the date specified on the registration form.
  17. Late Registration Fee:
    Payments made within 10 days of the event will incur a $250 late fee.
  18. Cancellations:
    There will be no refunds for any cancellations.
